Host Destination
Beijing, the host destination for the Summit, is one of the most ancient cities in China and has been the focal point of politics and society throughout the years, consequently intriguing travellers with its wealth and diversity. The capital of the People's Republic of China and located in northern China, partially surrounded by the Hebei province. Beijing is now a fashionable and modern city proved by its excellent hosting of the 2008 Olympic Games. Visitors can explore the famous Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Summer Palace as well as many Chinese tea houses, temples and experience Chinese opera or go hunting for treasures at the silk and pearl markets.
Beijing is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, it is China's second largest city after Shanghai with more than 17 million people in Beijing's area of jurisdiction. The city is divided into 16 urban and suburban districts and two rural counties, the city's urban area has about 13 million residents.Beijing is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and motorways passing through the city. It is also the destination of many international flights arriving in China. Beijing is recognized as the political, educational, and cultural center of the People's Republic of China. The city hosted the 2008 Olympic Games.Few cities in the world besides Beijing have served as the political and cultural centre of an area as immense as China for so long.There is scarcely a major building of any age in Beijing that doesn't have at least some national historical significance. Beijing is renowned for its opulent palaces, temples, and huge stone walls and gates. Its art treasures and universities have long made the city a centre of culture and art in China.

Venue
The Summit will take place at the International Convention Centre, which is part of the International Hotel. The venue is centrally located in Beijing, 10-15 minutes from Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and 24km from Beijing Capital International Airport.
The International Convention Centre is a state of the art facility, which has been operational since opening in 2008 for the Beijing Olympics.
