 Travelling in time

This day is dedicated to the past from the time of Caesar to Lord Byron.
The tour begins in Vilamoura at an unexpected archeological site and museum. Cerro da Vila museum and site exhibits the remains of a noble mansion and Roman baths.

Lunch will be served at the sea front as the Romans would have liked. After lunch we will travel a little further in time and space to find ourselves in a beautiful 18th century baroque chapel in São Lourenço, with its blue and white tiled walls contrasting with the carved and gilded wooden altar.

The Chapel and surroundings, including the S. Lourenço Cultural Centre and Art Gallery, which is housed in beautiful restored old buildings, retain much of the Algarve's character and charm of the past.

Champagne will be served at the Art Gallery garden terrace with the sound of a cord duet as musical background. Return in time to change for the Gala Dinner.

 Travelling to nature

"Green, how I love you green".
The poet could have been writing of the wooded slopes of Monchique, for after the heat of the Algarve beaches, it is the coolness of the hills that is most striking. Here, where nature reigns supreme, crystalline rivers gurgle between rocks and boulders, while the presence of man is evident in the white color of little town houses with small terraces planted with fruit trees and vegetable plots.

The charms of Monchique extend a never-ending invitation that one cannot decline. In quite peaceful surroundings, enjoy the beauty of colorful early 20th century buildings and feel the freshness of Caldas de Monchique spa waters.

Lunch will be served at a place with history, an old hunting chalet, once owned by the Portuguese royal family, and nowadays used as a country inn. After having tasted some superb recipes, we move to the former Moorish town of Silves, to visit its Gothic Medieval Cathedral. We return for a relaxed free evening.

 Travelling to green & blue

Golf Tournament
You are invited to participate in the ‘President of the Republic Cup’ on the Millennium Golf course.

Buffet Lunch at the Millennium Restaurant in the Millennium Golf Course Clubhouse.

A prize-giving ceremony will take place that evening, during the closing dinner at the Vilamoura Casino.

In the morning
Golfers are invited to play an elite event - The President's Cup - along with famous guests, including H.E. the Portuguese Republic President or, as last year, Mr. Rubens Barrichello, the Formula 1 driver. The Millennium Championship Golf Course is, par excellence, a great course that one must play. Apart from a marvellous golf day, one will get the chance to socialise with other keen golfers. Beginners will be granted the opportunity to learn or to improve their golf skills with a golf pro.

In the afternoon
Guests will sail out to sea on a vessel that could have had Henry the Navigator as a captain! The “Boa Esperança”, which means Good Hope, is a replica, (as faithful as possible), of the Portuguese caravels from the age of the Discoveries, built in timber by specialists in naval construction, in accordance with 15th century plans, but addressing modern requirements of safety and comfort. Cocktails will be served along Algarvian coastline.

In the evening
The Vilamoura Casino opens its doors to an exciting night hosted by the charming Spanish singer, Julio Iglesias, who will perform his most famous songs after dinner. Guests are invited to exercise their gaming skills after the show.

 Before travelling home

Informal Golf Tournament
You are invited to play in an Informal Golf Tournament on The Old Golf Course, Vilamoura (individual event, shotgun start).

We offer you the chance of a great golf experience by playing the famous “The Old Course” quoted as one of the best golf courses in Continental Europe. Once more, beginners can enjoy a golf clinic tutored by a golf pro.

Should one prefer to have a more cosmopolitan morning, we’ll organise a trip to Forum Algarve, a shopping centre nominated for the European ICSC Award.
