Ali Alp
Deputy Secretary of Tourism, Turkey
Ali Alp was born in Rize, Turkey in 1964 and is married with one
child. He is currently Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry
of Tourism, Turkey.
He was previously Deputy Undersecretary at the Ministry and prior
to that he held the same position in the Ministry of Prime Ministry,
the Undersecretariat of Housing.
He has also held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors
at both the Emlak Real Estate Investment Trust and the Emlak Housing
Corporation. In 2002 he was the Associate Professor, Finance at
the Turkish Higher Education Board.
His career in politics started in 1987 when he was appointed Specialist,
Undersecretariat of Treasury and Foreign Trade and he then went
on to hold the positions of Advisor to the State Minister in charge
of Economy and Supervisor for Capital Markets Board of Turkey.
Dr Alp holds a degree in Political Sciences from the Department
of Business Administration at Ankara University and an MBA from
Marmara University. He undertook his doctoral research at the Maastricht
School of Management and obtained a PhD in Finance from the Ankara
University Faculty of Political Sciences. Dr Alp has also written
numerous books and articles.
