Henrik Bartl
Head of Real Estate Structured Finance, Aareal Bank AG
Mr. Henrik Bartl is a director of Aareal Bank AG and responsible
for the Specialized Property Lending Department, which includes
the Hotel Lending Team as well as the Hotel Advisory Team. Aareal
Bank is a specialized financial institution focusing on senior debt
real estate lending in Europe and North America. The Hotel Team
handles both hotel mortgage and corporate financing transactions
across major cities of the United States, Canada and Europe. Mr.
Bartl is responsible for the structuring, origination and execution
of various forms of financing to the hospitality industry, having
been involved in underwriting over $4 billion in commitments since
joining Aareal Bank AG. In 2001, Aareal Bank AG issued the first
global Euro1, 1 billion mortgage backed transaction called 'Global
Hotel One'.
Prior to joining Aareal Bank in 1998, Mr. Bartl spent five years
with HVS International at their London and Vancouver Offices. He
holds a BA degree from Cornell University School of Hotel Management
and is a graduate from Centre International de Glion, Switzerland.
He is a member of the IREFAC Council and became a member of the
World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) in 2002.
In North America Aareal Bank AG has financed hotels like the Plaza
Hotel, New York, the Fairmont, Chicago, the six Ritz-Carlton Hotels
in Boston, New York, and Washington D.C. and the Pan Pacific Hotel,
Vancouver. Recent deals in Europe include the InterContinental Prague,
Czech Republic, and the Hotel Des Bergues in Geneva, Switzerland.
