Manuel Fernando Espirito Santo
Chairman, Espirito Santo Tourism
Born in Lisbon in July 1958, Manuel Fernando Esprito Santo member
of the Executive Committee of Espirito Santo Group is responsible
for the development and coordination of all non financial activities
of the group within Portugal and abroad.
From 1983 to 1988, he worked at Morgan Grenfell & Co., in London
with the responsibility of developing business in Southern European
countries.
In 1989, he joined the Espirito Santo Group in London, where he
created Esprito Santo Southern European Fund, a specialised fund
to invest in southern European countries.
After the privatisation of Banco Espirito Santo, in 1992, he joined
the London branch of the bank where as General Manager he developed
the branch activity in the United Kingdom and International Business.
In 1996, he moved back to Portugal to develop the tourism sector
of the Group compsed of Tivoli Hotels, ES Viagens, the largest travel
agency and tour operator in Portugal and Real Estate developments
in the Algarve and Lisbon area with 5 golf courses in operation.
The Group is also investing and developing other real estate projects
in Brazil and in the USA.
Today Manuel Fernando Espirito Santo is a Board Member of Esprito
Santo Holding, Espirito Santo Financial Group, Banco Espirito Santo
and Chairman of Espirito Santo Tourism.
The total turnover of the tourism sector of the Group, in 2004 is
approximately 500 millions Euros.
Manuel Fernando Espirito Santo is married with three children.
