Chairman, The Oberoi Group

Mr. P.R.S. Oberoi is Chairman of The Oberoi Group. Popularly known as "Biki", Mr. Oberoi is the son of Rai Bahadur M. S. Oberoi, the founder of The Oberoi Group. Mr. P.R.S. Oberoi was educated in India, the United Kingdom and in Switzerland.

In addition to providing leadership for the management of over thirty hotels and luxury cruisers across six countries, Mr. Oberoi has been instrumental in pioneering the development of new Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. The "Oberoi" brand has come to represent fine luxury hotels that offer efficient and personalised service.

Mr. Oberoi can be credited with placing India on the international luxury traveller's map with new luxury hotels in Jaipur, Agra, Udaipur and Ranthambhore. In addition to these hotels in India, luxury hotels in Indonesia, Mauritius and Egypt, have brought together some of the world's finest hotels, under "The Oberoi" brand. Mr. Oberoi has directed the development of these luxury hotels, breaking ground in new destinations and redefining architectural and design standards in luxury hospitality.

Recognising the importance of quality training in hospitality management, Mr. Oberoi established "The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development" at New Delhi in 1966. Today, this institution is considered amongst the best in Asia.

In recognition of his exceptional leadership and vision, the 6th International Hotel Investment Forum at Berlin honoured Mr. Oberoi with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in March 2003.

As a member of the Executive Committee of the World Travel and Tourism Council, London, Mr. Oberoi is the driving force behind the WTTC's "India Initiative".
