Sarmad Zok
Chief Executive Officer, Kingdom Hotel Investments
Mr. Zok joined HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1995
and was appointed in 2001 as Chief Executive Officer of Kingdom
Hotel Investments ("KHI"). KHI is a private equity investment
company, controlled by HRH Prince Alwaleed. KHI owns numerous hotels
and controls over $ 2 billion in hotel assets across the Middle
East and African Regions. Mr Zok Manages a team of 30 talented Hospitality
professionals. KHI was founded in 2000 as a result of the consolidation
of HRH Prince Alwaleed's hotel investing portfolio.
Prior to that, Mr Zok worked with Kingdom Holding Company as an
Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and Development. Based
in Kingdom's head office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Mr. Zok was responsible
for the firm's hotel investment and asset management activities
within the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Mr. Zok has actively participated
in the development of numerous Four Seasons hotels, Fairmont Hotels
and Mövenpick hotels in which Kingdom has invested.
Prior to joining Kingdom, Mr. Zok headed Forte plc's development
effort in the Middle East, Africa and India. He was involved in
the Meridien take-over transaction and participated in the redevelopment
of Forte's branding strategy. Previously, Mr. Zok worked at Hospitality
Valuation Services International, a leading hotel consulting and
valuation firm, in London covering European markets.
Prior to HVS International, Mr. Zok worked at the Hilton Hotel in
London in operations.
Mr. Zok received a BS in Hotel Management from the University of
Surrey and an MA in Property Valuation and Law from City University
Business School in London. Mr. Zok is a member of the Board of Directors
and Member of the Executive Committee of Kingdom Hotel Investments,
Riyadh and Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts AG, Zurich. Mr. Zok
is fluent in English, French and Arabic and has a working knowledge
of Italian and Spanish. Mr. Zok is a dual Lebanese and UK citizen.
