Group Chief Executive Jabu Mabuza (Tsogo Sun Holdings)

Jabulane (Jabu) Mabuza holds the position of Group Chief Executive of Tsogo Sun Holdings (Pty) Ltd.

Jabu has held directorships for various companies including: Amalgamated Retails Ltd, Hosken Consolidated Investments Limited (HCI), New Seasons Investments (Pty) Ltd (NSI), Boymans Ltd, Marconi Communications, Amalgamated Banks of Southern Africa (ABSA), OK Bazaars, African Renaissance Holdings (ARH) and Amalgamated Beverage Industries Ltd (ABI).

Jabu served as Chairman of Mpumalanga Development Corporation, Future Bank Ltd, and was Chief Executive of the South African Black Taxi Association (SABTA) and Chief Executive of the Foundation for African Business and Consumer Services (FABCOS).  Jabu was Chairman of the Marketing Federation of Southern Africa (MFSA). He also served as Chairman of the Casino Association of South Africa (CASA).

Jabu currently holds directorships for a number of companies within the Tsogo Sun Group as well as Southern Sun Hotels (Pty) Ltd.  He is also director of Southern Africa PGA Tour (Pty) Ltd.), as well as Board Chairman of South African Tourism.

Jabu has presented several papers around the world on Black Economic Empowerment Investment in South Africa, Small and Medium Enterprise Development and the Role of Business in Transition.

Jabu was the recipient of the 2004 Impumelelo, Top 300 Empowerment Awards as a Top Black Business Personality of the Year.

On 6 November 2009, Jabu was the recipient of the University of Limpopo Excellence Award in Business 2009, an award that was conferred on him by his alma mater, the University of Limpopo.

In order to broaden his executive skills, Jabu attended several courses namely, the Effective Leadership Program from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA, August 1996 and the Executive Development Program: Financial Statement Analysis from the John E Anderson Graduate School of Management at University of California, Los Angeles, October 1999.
